Why Cloud, Why SaaS?

Why Cloud, Why SaaS?

We can summarize the advantages of smartPulse platform working on a cloud environment as follows:

  • No initial investment, maintenance, operation and support costs.
  • Information privacy and security measures are taken at the highest level needed, starting from the cloud service provider layer.
  • Cloud resources can be easily scaled and backed up in line with changing or immediate needs.
  • Both the application server and data can be backed up, much easier and faster than on-premise installation.
  • Since on-premise applications generally use shared system resources with efficiency/cost priority, they are affected by the resource usage of other applications running on the same server. This causes performance issues from time to time.
  • Cloud applications have much higher security measures against disasters (cooling failure, power failure, fire, flood, criminal acts, etc.). In case of such a situation in the local data center, both your operational ability and your data will be at risk, while such risks are automatically eliminated in the cloud environment.
  • All users with the necessary authorization can easily access cloud applications from anywhere and from different devices. However, accessing the on-premise application requires first accessing the corporate network over a secure virtual private network (VPN) channel. For this reason, the user experience may be adversely affected in cases where quick decisions are required.
  • Applications running in the cloud are regularly updated and developed. Thus, all customers using the cloud application always and primarily have the opportunity to use the most up-to-date software version.
  • In cloud applications, as the same software is used by many customers simultaneously, possible technical problems can be noticed and reported to the software service provider in a much shorter time. Therefore, the service provider has the opportunity to take the necessary corrective action as soon as possible to fix the problem on the cloud side and/or the software.

In the traditional approach, where software is installed on personal devices or companies’ local data centers, failure/theft of personal devices or extraordinary situations that may occur at the data center level (cooling failure, power failure, fire, flood, criminal acts, etc.) interrupts at once. Considering the worst-case scenario, applications such as smartPulse operating in the cloud, serving with servers that are multiplexed and backed up in different geographical locations, inherently have much higher security and availability against such negativities.

smartPulse provides all these benefits by offering you an application that works in the cloud environment and empowers your team especially in today’s workspace where remote is the new normal.
