smartPulse Technology was founded to launch a business idea that, at the time, was a small fraction of its current scope. The company rapidly began its growth trajectory, powered by initial angel investment and the signing of its first commercial contract.
We continued to expand our service coverage and user base in the Turkish market.
We became a team of 10 people. Our new goal was to expand our services into Europe.
Our European expansion began, and we established smartPulse Global Limited in the UK. We completed the integration with OMIE, the market operator for Spain and Portugal, and executed our first algorithmic transaction in the Iberian market.
We became an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) for Nord Pool, one of Europe's two largest market operators. We began serving our first user on the Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), which utilizes the same infrastructure.
We began serving our users in Romania through the integration with the Romanian market operator, BRM.
We became an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) for EPEX SPOT, another major European market operator. We secured our Series-A investment from Toshiba Corporation. We closed 2024 as a company operating in 5 European countries. Our annual algorithmic transaction volume exceeded 20 TWh through our platform.
We became a team of 90 people across 5 countries, reaching over 50 corporate users in 10 European countries.
Önder Akar, smartPulse co-founder and CEO, has 20 years of experience in energy trading software and electricity markets. Before founding smartPulse in 2018, he gained expertise in market software, portfolio management, and trading operations. He leads smartPulse today, delivering innovative solutions for the digital transformation of energy markets.
Ozan Korkmaz, smartPulse co-founder, has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Also a founder of APLUS Enerji and Sayax, he is currently spearheading smartPulse’s significant European expansion. His work focuses on advanced automation, battery optimization, and adapting to new regulations, bridging technology with energy markets.
Uygar Yörük, smartPulse's Head of Global Growth, brings 30 years of extensive expertise in software development, analytics, and electricity markets. He has played a pivotal role in designing markets and developing tailored solutions for participants. Leading the company's European growth, he delivers solutions for trading, real time optimisation, and asset management.
Kerem Topuz, smartPulse co-founder and CFO, uses his strong background in consulting and corporate finance to drive company growth. He was instrumental in scaling the business from its concept, managing key expansion areas like legal, finance, and regulation. He guided smartPulse from its initial sales through EU expansion and multiple funding rounds.
